Not needed. It is enough when in larger combat exercises legendary "A2 yellow approaching from 1500 (east)" decides to use gas and someone doesn't wear his mask and rainsuit quick enough. Tear gas gives a chocolade taste in throat but wearing gas mask few hours gives a good headache
