Operation Raviv - one hella successful mission info

Following Israel's astounding victory in the 1967 "six days" war with Egypt, a deadly war of
attrition begins. The Egyptian artilery bombards the Israeli positions daily, causing heavy
casualties.
Trying to put an end to the bloodshed, the Israeli high command orders a series of commando raids
deep in Egyptian territory.
The largest raid of all was conducted on the 8 and 9 of September, 1969. An armored force,
consisting of six captured T-54 tanks and three BTR-50 APCs, was landed on the Egyptian shore of
the Suez canal.
The raiding force's orders were to attack two Egyptian bases, the base at Abu Daragh and the
radar installations in Ras Za'afrana, and to inflict as much damage as possible.

Operation "Raviv" was a complete success - all objectives were reached, about 70 vehicles of all
kind were destroyed and more than a houndred Egyptian soldiers were killed (including a Major-
General, who was run over by a tank). The only Israeli casualty was a wounded officer.
The Egyptian president, Gamal Abdul-Nasser, suffered a heart attack after hearing about the raid...

---> 70 vehicles, over 100 men, and a president, and with no losses.

I recall a program on the Discovery Channel some months ago covering great battles and this conflict was covered - not to detail - but the great lines and this operation was mentioned.

Google it if you want more information, or check out:

Hahahaha, that's pretty funny... Did the President die or did he just have a heart attack?
