Post; Norwegian Soldier Killed in Afghanistan, Hardest Fightings for the Norwegians so far

Quote:
OSLO, Nov 8 (Reuters) - A Norwegian soldier was killed and another severely wounded by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan on Thursday, Norwegian defence officials said.

The two soldiers were on their way to a shooting range near their camp in Maimana, northern Afghanistan, when a bomb hit their car. It was the third death of a Norwegian soldier in Afghanistan.

The last couple of days the Norwegian forces in Afghanistan have been involved in the hardest fightings they've had so far down there and 25 Taliban soldiers are confirmed killed (so far) by them so it's speculated that this may have been revenge for that...

RIP!

The condition of the wounded soldier is stable now, but he's been quite badly hurt.
The bomb doesn't seem to have been remote detonated, but it may have had an improvised pressure activated detonator so this may have been "just" a random act of violence and not directed directly towards the Norwegians down there..

The killed soldier was at home with his family just a few days ago...

Rest in Peace

A mate of mine was killed in Kabul a couple of years ago when his vehicle was attacked with RPGs, so the bad news last night was a real struggle.
