Post; Norwegian combat engineer

We were toying with our own motto back in the days. Because we also functioned as armored recon our motto were "Primus intrat, exit novissimus" -First inn, last out. Now, what I'm wondering about is if this is the correct Latin for our motto? (First in, last out!) Anybody out there with latin-knowledge who can help me?

My latin is a bit rusty, but I'm pretty sure that's not the correct translation since I can't find it on Google.
Anyone else in here who knows latin a bit beter than me (that shouldn't be too hard.)
