This German company is pumping out Smei-Auto STG-44 Carbines. They are also making new 7.92x33mm ammo. Also they're making brand new MP-38 SMG and Stens.

I wonder if they will ever be imported into the USA.

Use altavista to translate. Or if any of you German Forum Members here. Can you guys dig up any info on the Rifle and SMGs and the Company?

The original STG-44 has a 419mm Barrel. which means right now, if it is an exact remake. The barrel is 16.496063 inches in length. It would be legal. But I believe that someone will have to do the whole USA parts bit too.

The "Sten" can actually be delivered with a 2-rd magazine for hunting!!! :D

And so can the others be too...

922r applies your going to need to add 4 US parts of the BATF parts list, you could make US magazines that would be 3 US parts and maybe a US stock and you would be fine but if you ever attached an OEM mag you would be committing a Federal Crime.

I guess the US market STG 44 could only execpt US made mags and the distributer could install a US made stock that would solve your 922r problem. ;-) On my guns I like to put as many as possible US parts on it just to be safe.

Man my German sucks now but you got your 2 round magazine for hunters, 10 round magazines for the sportsman and the 30 round magazine for the collector.
They put it in a wooden case for world wide delivery.
A ginko tree wood stock is an option.
You can find some news etc. at this link: http://www.ssd-weapon.com/produkte/bd44/rohteile.htm

In the works is a .22 version. Don't think they mention that it's been produced.
Hope that helps.
Just discovered this thing.

Get me the steel and I'll make you a reproduction Sten. It's been a while, and my hair's a bit (lot) greyer, but my fitting and turning is still OK .

On second thoughts, maybe I'd better not. Damn stupid gun laws took all the fun out of life, and all the profit.

My daughter in the bottom photo collecting my cases is into her 30's now so that will give you a time frame.

I didn't make this one below.

Sorry about the photos, the first couple are off polaroids and the rest are scanned from slides which have started to fade.

You can get all of those here in Canada, but they are all pinned of at 5 rds, and cost about $2500 and up.

Hehe I tend to prefer the orginals myself, one of these days I will have to figure out what I am going to do with 2nd STG-44 I got when I purchased the operation one.

I am just not sure how to go about restoration of such a weapon, I am thinking I will get it professionally done.
