Just a quick email to notify all members who served between 1945-1991, of a new Cold War Veterans group that has just formed:
The Allied Forces Cold War Association (AFCWA) was formed on 1 May 2009 - Cold War Victory Day, in the United States. Membership is open to *all* Allied nations that fought against Communist aggression, Communist-sponsored guerilla movements as well as Communist-led or supplied proxy wars (Africa, Middle East, etc.). Membership is open to those who served in Allied nations in NATO, South East Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America. "Allied nations" = those countries that had an established fight against Communist aggression as national policy.
The AFCWA is an international organization with its HQ in Houston, Texas. Currently we are establishing our governing operational directors, responsible for recruiting new members in each designated country. Eventually, once dues are established, we will set up a website; our forum is listed above. Membership is free on the forum to Cold War veterans and supporters.
