Post; Navajo Code Talkers

the other day, I was walking over by one of the corridors here in the building, and saw a bunch of WWII vets with Red hats on.... As I got closer, I realized that they were Marine vets.... Even closer.... I realized they were Native Americans visiting their very own area specifically for the code talkers. It was really good to see these folks come back and visit.

No offense to them intended, but enjoy seeing them while they last. The "best generation" is dying off more and more rapidly each day. The time is not far distant that we'll be able to say to people, "I knew a World War II vetran." and people will find that amazing.

Brings back veteran memories. my first job, I worked next to Fred, a WW! veteran. Same desk. Unfortunately a very bitter guy. He'd lost a leg at GALLIPOLI! He was only too pleased to give me the real story of the landing and how he survived. Now its MY generation's time to move over!
No more belting your ears re. WW11. You'll all be free at last!
