I don't think they'll be letting me take photos while training. It's ALL business. There isn't even any "private property" while you're a boot.
This usually gets a bit more relaxed when you actually get assigned to a unit and are on active duty.

As for guys who are obviously unfit. It's CUT from Marines.
If bean pole guy manages to do enough on the physical, he's in, and they're going to work his butt off until he gets some meat stuck on his scrawny little frame. If not. It's the axe.

As for the Army. If you've got a serious criminal record etc etc. you're cut from all military service. This may seem like a "good" thing for people who do not wish to join. But it will affect them VERY negatively in future life.
