If you still see World War One as a case of "Lions led by Donkeys" and "The Lost Generation", give this book a read. Some interesting ideas.
The author was a Major in the Gurkhas, and has appeared on a number of documentaries.
The book takes a number of "myths" of WWI and then subjects them to close scrutiny.
Some interesting reading.
