Post; Montenegro declares independence


PODGORICA (Reuters) - The former Yugoslav republic of Montenegro declared independence on Saturday when its parliament adopted the May 21 national referendum decision to end a partnership with Serbia dating from 1918.

Its a strange cycle in Europe if you think about it... first there was the consolidation of smaller tribes into eventually nations and then empires and now the exact opposite as they splinter into ever smaller city-states. I blame San Marino for the whole thing.
