Post; Millitary songs

Course
glory, glory what a hell of a way to die with a rifle up your ass and a bullet in your eye, glory, glory what a hell of a way to die when your balls hang lower than your pair of trooper boots.

The corpral tied a knot in the sergents parachute,The corpral tied a knot in the sergents parachute,The corpral tied a knot in the sergents parachute, and he ain't gunna jump no more
and the lord said.
[course]
The sergent was the last to jump the first to hit the ground,The sergent was the last to jump the first to hit the ground,The sergent was the last to jump the first to hit the ground, and he ain't gunna jump no more
and the lord said!
[course]
He landed on the runway like a big pile of ****,He landed on the runway like a big pile of ****,He landed on the runway like a big pile of ****,and he ain't gunna jump no more
and the lord said!
[course]
They scraped him off the runway with a rusty spatuala,They scraped him off the runway with a rusty spatuala, and he ain't gunna jump no more
and the lord said.
[course]
They put him in a shoebox and they sent him to his mom,They put him in a shoebox and they sent him to his mom,and he aint gunna jump no more
and the lord said!
[course]
mom didn't want him so she sent him to the mess, mom didn't want him so she sent him to the mess, mom didn't want him so she sent him to the mess, and he aint gunna jump no more,
[course]
The cook didn't want him so he put him in the soup,The cook didn't want him so he put him in the soup,The cook didn't want him so he put him in the soup, and he ain't gunna jump no more,
[course]
the soup tasted better than it ever did before, the soup tasted better than it ever did before, the soup tasted better than it ever did before, and he ain't gunna jump no more
[course]
The moral of the story is to pull the ****ing chord,The moral of the story is to pull the ****ing chord,The moral of the story is to pull the ****ing chord, and he ain't gunna jump no more,
[chourse]
The moral of the moral is to never eat the soup,The moral of the moral is to never eat the soup,The moral of the moral is to never eat the soup, and he aint gunna jump no more.

Glory glory is lengthy song which was never meant to be offensive in any way.. if you know the song already and know the tune than you'll find the song much more entertaing

One of my 1352 other ideas for the site is to make a Military Cadence Calls/Military Songs section.
I have a whole bunch of them after 10 years in the Army....

Heard a couple of other versions of this one too.
I think it's sung to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".

I'm familiar with a variation of it called 'Blood on the Risers,' which is an American paratrooper song.

Quote:
He was just a rookie trooper and he surely shook with fright
He checked all his equipment and made sure his pack was tight
He has to sit and listen to those awful engines roar,
"You ain't gonna jump no more!"

Chorus: Gory, gory, what a helluva way to die,
Gory, gory, what a helluva way to die
Gory, gory, what a helluva way to die
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

"Is everybody happy?" cried the Sergeant, looking up.
Our hero feebly answered, "Yes" and then they stood him up.
He leaped into the icy blast, his static line unhooked,
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

He counted loud, he counted long, he waited for the shock
He felt the wind, he felt the cloud, he felt the awful drop
He jerked his cord, the silk spilled out and wrapped around his legs
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

The risers wrapped around his neck, connectors cracked his dome
The lines were snarled and tied in knots around his skinny bones
The canopy became his shroud, he hurled to the ground
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

The days he lived and loved and laughed kept running through his mind
He thought about the girl back home, the one he left behind
He thought about the medics and he wondered what they'd find
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

The ambulance was on the spot, the jeeps were running wild
The medics jumped & leaped with glee, rolled up their sleeves & smiled
For it had been a week or more since the last a chute had failed
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

He hit the ground, the sound was "SPLAT," the blood went spurting high
His buddies all were heard to say "A helluva way to die!"
He roll around the ground, in the welter of his gore
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

Chorus

There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute
Intestines were a-dangling from his paratrooper suit
He was a mess, they picked him up and poured him from his boots
And he ain't gonna jump no more!

A big finish on the Chorus!

Blood on the Risers is one of my favorites. Here's an few alternate chorus'

Gory, gory what a helluva way to die
with a rifle on your back and you're fallin' from the sky
gory, gory what a helluva way to die and he ain't gonna jump no more!

gory, gory what a helluva way to die
when you're fallin' from a plane and you don't know how to fly
gory, gory what a helluva way to die and he ain't gonna jump no more!

"Blood on the Risers" is indeed sung to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" but the version I heard the 82nd Airborne Chorus sing has different lyrics than the ones quoted above.

We've got one that's almost the exact same, but it's called "The Flying Fortress". It's around here somewhere, I'm just too lazy to find the link.
