| Optio | Post; Military retirement message?I'm not sure if this is the right board to post this in but here goes! The Senior Naval Science Instructor of my NJROTC unit is retiring after 11+ years leading our unit and 30+ in the active duty Navy. We're making a commemorative plaque for him, but we need some ideas for what message we should put on there. He's a Navy Commander (O-5), so something military related would be best. Something humorous is ok, but no matter what it must be clean (we're going to present this at a major awards ceremony). Any suggestions?

| Forums Grumpy Old Man | The following old Irish blessing comes to mind: May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. With the following Naval blessing: (I wish you) Fair winds and following seas, (the rest of the days of your life) ... and long may your big jib draw. (in fair weather and in foul) As you will notice, I use the Naval blessing as part of my signature.

| Optio | Thanks Chief, that's great. Our CDR is Irish, so that makes it even better! |
