I wish Iran was back to the glory of the Persian empire where Jews had been treated equally with others. Our religion was Zoroastrian not Islam and we had a monarchy from Central Asia to Europe and Egypt that all subjects had the peaceful way of life.

This is a hard topic to comment on. Iran has become an enemy state that is definitely not a friend to the USA (or) as a matter of course - not a friend to most of the free world.

What makes it so hard for me is the fact that I had a good Iranian friend in the days when the Shah was still in power. He was a member of the Iranian Army and was attending a military school here in the United States. He and I had many a long conversation about his faith and the situation that was developing in his home country. The Shah was being attacked by the Mullahs and their forces at that time and the Shah was being hard pressed to hang on to his rule.

"Alli" was of the opinion at that time that when he finished school and returned to Iran that he would have to be carefully what he said or did. The mullahs would condemn people that had any Western ideologies or beliefs. I lost track of him and have no idea how he faired upon his return to Iran. When he returned, the mullahs had managed to overthrow the Shah and had placed the most repressive government in Iran's history in control.

For those that believe Iran is "a stupid country that needs to be completely destroyed before it infects anyone else with its filth" need to be reminded that not all Iranians are enemies of the United States. The mullahs have such an iron control of the population and the Iranian military forces that dissent is "almost" impossible.

Whispering Death needs to be reminded that there are other countries that believe the same thing about the United States.
