FAIRFIELD, Utah -- A Utah National Guard helicopter crashed Monday night, killing two during a training flight, officials said.

The two men were the only people on board the Apache helicopter when it crashed west of Utah Lake in the Lake Mountains.

Maj. Hank McIntire, a spokesman for the Utah National Guard, said the helicopter was on a routine night training flight when it crashed. The crash scene west of Utah Lake was on the lower side of a mountain.

McIntire said Army investigators from Fort Rucker in Alabama would come to Utah and try to figure out what caused the crash.

The crew members' names were not immediately released.
