My mother works at an art museum in Honolulu, Hawaii (The Honolulu Academy of Arts). The first sunday of every month is free to all military personell and their families.

I ask everywhere and most places will give some sort of discount. I'm a veteran and I still get discounts at just about everywhere I shop. I've saved HUNDREDS if not thousands at Home Depot. Shoe stores all generally give 20% off as well. I am a distance runner, so 20% off my shoes is a big thing. Just ask, the worst thing that will happen is they can say no.
