Post; military courtesy

hi there. i bumped into a couple of articles which deal with military courtesy they read that junior members are responsible to initiate the salute, senior member are expected to recognize and return it promptly and correctly.

what about senior members reporting to their chiefs and commanders?

what sort of military courtesy do they have to follow , say, at briefings,
when caught doing something wrong or when summoned
to report about the platton performance?

Does he go like " Sir, I stand corrected", or " Sir, I promise we improve our performance in december? " or I' ll never do that again, Sir"?
