at mcdonalds i like the fries and the salads..but for burgers id rather burger king

Nathan's and Wendy's. I won't eat at a McDonald's or Burger King unless there are no other restaurants around, or delis for that matter.

That being said, I'd definitely take Burger King over McDonald's. Their burgers are big enough to be called burgers, and you can taste the meat. McD's burgers are tiny and they have to use special sauce because the meat tastes like cardboard soaked in grease (not an exaggeration). Pretty much the only thing they have going for them are the fries, which are delicious.
