Post; Magnetic Bombs?

A friend of mine at work and I were talking about magnetic bombs the other day at work and I am curious if they have ever been heavily used or if they are really that effective. From what I have heard and read about them, they could be really effective in invading as they can take out communications and other electrical operated things. Any wisdom on this matter from you experienced guys and gals would be appreciated.

I guess he's talking about EMP weapons.
(Electro magnetic pulse)

They are effective, but the radioation's not very funny to deal with after you have used it...

I found an article about it here:
http://www.milnet.com/e-bomb.htm

You can do a google search for EMP weapons for moer info.

Thanks for the link Redleg. Very good one. I kind of figured that they would be pricey and difficult to mass produce.
