Post; Long Distance Mail?

WHILE SERVING in the U.S. Army in Germany, I exchanged letters with my family by cassette. On one tape, my grandfather began telling me stories of his days in Europe during World War I. He reminisced for about five minutes. Then, in the background, I heard my grandmother saying something to him. There was a short pause, and Grandpa resumed talking: "Well, got to go. Your grandma says this is long distance, you know."

Does the word you're thinking of happen to start with a w?
