Hewitt snubs charity event

February 07, 2006 LLEYTON Hewitt has snubbed a fundraiser for intellectually disabled athletes that was organised in his honour.

The tennis champ, who is an ambassador for the Special Olympics, failed to turn up for the charity harbour cruise last Friday, The Daily Telegraph reports. He was supposed to host the event to raise funds for people with intellectual disabilities to get to the Special Olympics World Games in China next year.
But the athlete pulled out 24 hours before the event citing a sore foot, the paper said.

im appalled yet sadly not suprised.
i proudly refuse to support lleyts, he is an A grade tosser and media whore, along with his wife (ha!) and his tennis prowess is largely based on hype, which he continually fails to live up to

If I am asked what we are fighting for, I can reply in two sentences. In the first place, to fulfil a solemn international obligation . . . an obligation of honor which no self-respecting man could possibly have repudiated. I say, secondly, we are fighting to vindicate the principle that small nationalities are not to be crushed in defiance of international good faith at the arbitrary will of a strong and overmastering Power.
