The ship's company of HMAS Adelaide march past on the dock of HMAS Stirling. HMAS Adelaide is being decomissioned after 27 years of service. The ship is a guided missile frigate and has served in both gulf wars (op Damask and Catalyst) and has been deployed on Op Slipper in 2002. HMAS Adelaide also saw duty in many peace keeping and peacetime operations world wide.

Timor-Leste Battle Group 3, Assault Pioneers (2nd Battalion Royal Australian Regiment) take a break from their Water Operations Continuation training, being conducted in the district of Liquica, west of Dili.

HMAS Adelaide, the RAN's oldest frigate departs fleet base west, en route to Sydney for the final decomissioning.




The body of Lance Corporal John Gillespie is brought home from Vietnam by members of 1 CSSB after he went MIA in 1971 when the UH1 Huey he was flying in was shot down over Southern Vietnam. He was a medic from the 8th Field Ambulance and was trying to evacuate a wounded ARVN soldier near the Long Hai hills. There is currently a campaign on to find then bring home Australian's who are missing in action.
