2nd Lieutenant Cathy Haynes is on exchange from the British Royal Artillery (RA) and working with 16 Air Defence Regt as a Reconnaissance Officer. 16 AD Regt operates two ground based air defence systems, the Rapier and the RBS-70 surface to air missiles and are participating in Exercise Pitch Black. Normally stationed in Germany, 2nd Lieutenant Haynes is a Troop Commander of a vehicle mounted High Velocity Missile (HVM) system.
