The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency erased 14 years of Lance Armstrong's career Friday — including his record seven Tour de France titles — and banned him for life from the sport that made him a hero to millions of cancer survivors after concluding he used banned substances.

The fact that he is not willing to fight the charges makes his case look bad.

Personally I am upset that it should ever come to this, as I've always looked to him as a real cycling and sporting hero. It would be really sad to see him leave the sport this way.
 
I completely agree, what authority does the USADA have to make those kinds of decisions about a cyclist's career. Surely that's up to the International Cycling Union?

Shame to see a great career and a great man's reputation tarnished by this. This is their witch-hunt, and unfortunately the great Lance Armstrong is their target.

He's overcome so much in his life, and to have what he loves stripped from him by those who are not even of the highest cycling authority is very sad.

Poor bugger. Long live Lance!
