Do we know what happened in Korea and what allies did there?

If you want I can share the things that I know.

Excellent post, oRTouCH .
The Korean War has been called the forgotten war by many. Many people don't know about the many nations who sent their armed forces and other support in that war. You can also add the nation of South Africa to the list They sent a squadron of P-51 Fighters to support the effort.

My grandfather was a 101st Airborne mechanic in Korea. I don't know if he saw combat or not, because I have never talked to him, but I do know that he was there. And didn't U.N. forces eventually drive to North Korea's border with China at one time before being driven back by Chinese troops? I think that's how it went, but I'm not sure.

I don't think the 101st was in Korea.

The 101st Airborne wasn't activated at the time. A possibility is that he was with the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. The 187th regiment became part of the newly reactivated 101st Airborne Division in '55. The 187th would go on to fight with the 101st in Vietnam and are still attached to the Screaming Eagles to this day and are currently deployed in Iraq.
