http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_mass

You do not need any specific minimum set amount to cause a reaction....It is all relative...

An a kiloton of TNT is a measurement of energy
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ton#Units_of_energy

Thus you are confusing the amount of material needed versus the energy released

A.) kg is a unit of mass, not weight.
B.) Your link only confirmed what I have been saying all along so why do you keep trying to argue with me?

I'll buy the theory my esteemed colleague Mr. Infidel has put forth on this basis. There has been NO radiation detected at the site of the test, epicentre of the seismic event, what have you. We have the capability to detect these things... and they're coming up with nada.

Couple this with the recent probe along the DMZ and it plays into the theory that this was a joint exercise gauging their enemies' reactions.

North korea's N-test was real because a thousand tons of explosive is needed to cause that earthquake.
But,such big movement was not observed.
But Kim seems to have amazing ability that NK media say.
That might be kim's supernatural power lol.

Ah yes, but don't you thnk that this "could" have been caused by conventional bombs? Put them in a compressed enough space and they will simulate that.

Now, everyone is on edge. Read http://apnews.myway.com/article/20061011/D8KM5IMG0.html

At first,I thought it.
But,Spy satelite doesn't see any movement that putting many conventional bombs in cave around the area.
Of course,NK digged a secret long tunnel alike 38's from igloo to the cave and they may carried in bombs by the under-way.
And researching radio active dust needs more time to catch dusts of NK.
Anyway, from my view of now.
The possibility of fake Nuke is very low.

Im arguing with you because this statement you made earlier

Quote:
I always thought that because of the amount of mass needed to form a chain reaction a nuclear explosion could never be smaller than 3kt's.
Is incorrect

My link confirmed that that statement is wrong...

Plus you could have a fizzle which would yield much less of an explosion than what you where going for... e.g. they could have been trying to make a 15kt bomb and it "screwed up" casuing a 1kt or .5kt explosion...

For further information on why your statement was incorrect
