AFP - Since 2005, a US Justice Department document has authorized and justified the use of violent and trauma-producing techniques in interrogations of war on terror suspects, The New York Times reported Thursday.

Hmmm... sounds very familiar. I think the last perpetrators were nearly all hung in 1946-7, regardless of their "I was just following orders" defence, the rest copped 10 -15 years.

It's a slippery slope.

The tired old line out of the Administration of "we dont do torture" is becoming more and more of a Joke with each new revelation.

I look for Congressional Hearings, and I hope to see Jail time for everyone involved, that includes everyone working for the Administration who said officially that "we dont do torture" or that "we do not torture", as they are guilty of the cover-up at the very least.
And as the old saying goes from the time of President Nixon.... its not the crime so much, its the cover-up that'll get you.

Not good. Don't agree with it. And it should stop.

Nice Nazi reference. You should wear that shade of rhetoric more often it suits you.

Not rhetoric,... fact, there's a big difference . But I must admit, it was the first thing that came to mind.

As far as i know,.... it's gone on for years, but when a Government actually frames legislation making it legal, I just shake my head.

It is a bit like tying the knot in your own noose. They've gotta be barking, raving mad.

Oh well as long as you put it that why I guess the Third Reich/Nazi reference is okay.

Actually I never said anything about NAZIs, I was talking about the Japs, who were much better known for their cruelty and torture of POWs, but I guess you can include them too if you wish.

I wouldn't like to appear one eyed about it

Do I get a "Gotcha" for that?
