Post; Jolly Olde England at it again

I thought some of the UK's thinking was getting out of control, but this is over the top.

Quote:
England — A mother who wanted to give her son a birthday cake featuring a photo of him as a baby had to get it censored because it showed his bottom.

Gail Jordan, 41, had gone to a supermarket in Merseyside, England, on June 13 with the photo of her son David taken when he was five-months-old.

But the store's staff initially refused to scan the picture on to a cake because it featured nudity.

They eventually put a star over the offending part of the photo which was scanned on to the cake.

The cake was a surprise for David’s 21st birthday on June 18.

Ms Jordan, who lives in Rock Ferry, the Wirral, said: "I took the photo of my son to the store in Liscard and they said we can’t do that - it’s nudity.”

"It was a photo of my son at five-months-old. I could not believe it.”

Earpieces for everyone. All linked to the local law office. Is it legal for me to take out the trash wearing my boxer shorts and a wife-beater shirt?

Actually I think you will find that this is not new or uncommon, I know that it was illegal to process any film that contained nudity outside a professional studio as far back as the 1980s (I had an after school job in a pharmacy that processed films and had all these rules read to me when I started).

If you find any magazines of that era you will also find advertisements to such studios and the general reason given was that the staff of these fast processing outlets were less controlled and could run off copies by the dozen where as professional studios were considered more discreet.

I am not sure whether these rules still exist but that used to be the reasoning behind such rules.

Given that New Zealand law is a throw back to British law of the 1920-1950s you will probably find that Britain had something very similar but like most of these laws have simply been abandoned with changing social attitudes. At a guess I would suggest that this is more likely someone being pedantic than a political failing by either Europe or UK politicians.

I think that you'd run into a problem here. Because by wearing such a shirt you might at some time in the future actually beat your wife. So the way UK laws seem to be going you'd probably be arrestable to prevent a future beating.

So I must throw the garbage out while wearing a government approved and issued tunic? Must be so.
That way, no one will feel jealous about what clothes I have and commit suicide out of jealousy.

We've been on this island for a lot longer than 1000 years. Have the people of Zimbabwe gone senile because they can't get rid of Mugabe?

Have you been senile, or are you going senile, regarding your choice of leaders, would you say?

From looking at history I fear that our evolution as a society is one of complete socialism. One in which the government shall rule it's people and the people shall not rule it's government. Every nation on Earth is sadly slipping into that state of affairs. I believe that I might be one of the last generations left in America that has tasted freedom.
