CAMP PENDLETON -- Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will visit Camp Pendleton today to tour a new infantry training program and confer with base officials.
Mullen, 61, is a native of Los Angeles and a 1968 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.
On Oct. 1, he became the 17th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He serves as the principal military adviser to the president, defense secretary, National Security Council and Homeland Security Council.
