Joining an army of commnwelth nations

Could I join any armed forces of a foreign country (as long as they were in the commenwelth) straight away? what i mean is some places need you 2 hav lived in the country 4 a few years before military service
 
Yes, it depends where you are from. If you are a from a country that is a member of the British commonwealth then you can join the British army at any time, I believe. I also believe you can join the military of any country in the commonwealth as well. However I am not so sure of other countries commonwealths, if there are any.
 
there r like 53 country in commonwealth but most of them from africa , i don't think u would like to join an army of them as there are alot of wars taking place in africa.
