Jarhead info

So, what do you all think about the new movie Jarhead? For those of you who have seen it, how accurate do you think it is to life in the real United States Marine Corps, especially during times of war?

Ignorance is Ignorance but some swords are single edged... \"Semper Fi Mac!\"

I saw it yesterday the day it opened, it was great the only thing wrong was the guy never shot anyone! Major letdown! Yeah but I wouldn't know what it was like in the Marine corps back in the 90's so I can't say if it was accurate or not. Great movie though

Yeah, I had heard that it has no vioence at all, but that it was an awesome movie. Honestly, the fact that they finally made a movie worthy of Marines is enough for me! Dont get me wrong, Full Metal Jacket was an outstanding movie. Sands of Iwo Jima, also an awesome film (thanks to John Wayne!), but from what I hear, Jarhead kills them both.

The vast majority of all servicemen never get to shoot anyone.
I guess I'll have to try to get a copy of this when I go on leave around March next year.

Is there an underlying theme (i.e. war is bad)?
