Japanese military and politic -- Discussion and details. info
From that link we sees Japanese military expense rise on to 5th in year 2003. Few years ago I read in my newspaper article that China military expense is actually less than the Japanese even.
I also read an article few days ago which written that Japan have become the country that have the highest military expense in Asia this year.
The Japanese every says that they need to become proper country by having troops and blablabla. But we see their military developement, we know that their military power have become more than a Defending troops should be.
Also, the Japanese military r actually more powerful than many other countries in Asia. No one in South East Asia can beat them, Korean cannot beat them. Even for China, it would have been a myst.

again simple logic, if the US cannot beat china in the korean war. and even the chinese are able to make a stalmate with US and UN forces. you much remember that the technology gap between china and US was very great at that time. nowadays its different. it is not that much of a gap anymore. and china can launch its men to space (involves very complex technology here) which shows they missile technology is very advance and also they have teh resources.
china today do have some very advance technology lately, just go to china's army forum as i posted the sources there.
invading a country isnt easy either. there are plenty of examples. even if u manage to beat the army, u cannot really beat its people. like Iraq today.
also today china has ICBMs which could blow up the world several times, so no country could really win a war with countries that has nuclear weapons.

China's power is land based, a few miles of water are all that are needed to safe guard a nation from China, Russia has more to fear from China than Japan. Southeast Asia is in trouble as well as some of the former Soviet Republics, maybe even Pakistan and India. In 20 years China may have more of a Navy, but if Japan's military budget keeps increasing or at least stays the same then Japan will have the edge in a war with China, they probably wouldn't be able to defeat China, but the same is probably true when turned around.
Please note that 98% of what I say is my opinion and/or my "version" of the facts. Most of what I say is rumor with little to no evidence to back it up, just something I picked up somewhere.

also the chinese have the kilo class submarines, also they do have exceptional Agis crusiers. they are more likely to use it on taiwan, that's why they build up their navy. the chinese do have some pretty advance technology lately. at least they can develop their own Awacs http://www.centurychina.com/plaboard.../3682619.shtml
i do agree that japanese have better technology than the chinese, but japan will not win if they invade since the chinese do have large number of nuclear weapons and could destroy the whole japanese island before they could react. but u have seriously underestimated the chinese army. and you got to realised that china's economy will become second very soon. and read this because it shows their navy capability too http://www.garnertedarmstrong.ws/Mar...news0015.shtml
china's army cannot take japan just yet. perhaps in the near future since they dont have enough landing crafts to commence the assult. and yes china's nuclear missles is enough to destroy the world.

I think the Chinese people focus way to much on nukes instead of conventional warfare. You cant just launch a nuke and get away with it, If China launched a nuke at Japan the Chinese skies would be raining nukes courtesy of the US. Japan has an extremely powerful navy, more powerful then most believe. I've heard that their technology is pretty much on par with the US military as well.

is everybody here agree that Japan's geography makes it a very very vulnerable nation...
a conventional warhead sent to tokyo can eaisly kill thousands, (everyone knows it if u been to there, see how concentrated popluation are), and we are not yet talking about using nukes
Japan is really an island nation, lacks of resources needed for its huge industry, and it is very vulnerable for a naval blockade or oil embargo
if japan wants to invade china now...i dont think it will happen..japanese are far smarter than they were in 1920s (ultra-nationalism)
and china really has no ability to land in japan or naval blockade japan something
but china is such a huge nation with lots of resources, (the recent dicovery of huge amount of oil and natural gas in XingJiang province shows it, and chinese government will save it as stragitic reserve)
china's economy will surpass japan in i think maxium of 15 years as teh second largest economy in the world.
japan does not really have the potential of being a super power again....
just like Britain cant control 1/4 of world agian as it did in 1800s..

u r a funny guy
tell me why u dont agree japan's geography makes it vulnerable,
such concentrated industry and population will be easy targets for any country , not just china (not mentioin ur unreasonable attitude towards china)
second..i said china does not have ability to do that now.. how about other countries..japan's rise is a global problem, not just china's problem
japan will not forget who put 2 nukes on their land..just like china won't forget who killed 20 million of its citizens..
third, in short terms, nationalists cannot rise up, 23 million vs 1.3 billion..tough fight, so ur dream of china's civil war and destruction cannot be realized yet
and U.S is not a country producing oil and sent to japan..U.S even have to buy oil for itself
and i dont know why u keep menitoning U.S while we are discussing japan..some alaska thing..i dont care
Guess u will find out china's economy become second largest?
well according to the speed of increasing on GDP, it is possible
my overall impression of ur last post is that u have a weird hatre towards chinese ppl....and u want to pick a fight on it..keep it to urself, proud american

"and i dont know why u keep menitoning U.S while we are discussing japan..some alaska thing..i dont care "
Why do you keep mentioning China? You are the guy saying "you underestimate China" in a Japanese topic. He is probobaly like me and getting tired of Chinese people bringing China into every single topic.

Just wondering, you know how japan and china have a ...to say the least...a hate / hate relationship.
What do you guys or gals think would happen if say in the future a japanses warship drifted into chinese waters?
Blown out of the water?
