Israel is going to lead itself into another war with syria and quite possibly iran over this. I really don't that anyone wants that and it'll probably become a stalemate, israel always fights near home so i don't think they'll have much of an advantage on an offensive too far way. If israel is so concerned about their soldiers why are they now putting them into new situations in which they're being kidnapped and killed? bella! Horrida bella! War! Horrid war! There are no warlike people, just warlike leaders |

Hizbullah capturing the Israeli soldiers was an act of war, one that Israel is oh so happy to fight.

As for this war, I dont see it as Iran trying to take view away from there missle program, I see it as something much more insidious. If Isreal goes to war with lebanon and syria (and i mean full land war not just strikes and whatnot) then all 3 would be weakened. Isreal would no doubt win, but they would be weakened, and maybe Iran can come in and finish Isreal. Think about it, with Isreal, Lebanon and Syria gone(or atleast severely weakened), that strengthens Iran in that area of the world.

Iran had Hezballah take the prisoners and start this crap so that Irans failure to give a response to the nuclear proposal would not be talked about at the G8, giveing them more time.

i truly understand how you guys feel, and i strongly believe that isreal has every right to defend itself and her citizens.but i'm afraid you're over-doing it.destroying the basic utilities (power stations, etc) and collectively punishing the whole population will not solve the problem.you will simply create more enemies for yourself. my humble advice to all isrealis is that they do not allow anger cloud their judgment(u guys are far better than this).i'm sure there're other ways of solving these problems.but that's my own humble opinion. Israel wants this war, theyve been waiting for a reason to destroy Hizbullah for a long time. I think they would this rather not spread into Syria and Iran, but if you compare the armed forces of those two countries to Israel there is really no comparison. Then if you factor in training and experience...and allies. syria?definitely.but iran?well....................i'm not so sure.remember:

Also Russian doctrine if used properly is quite effective, ask the guys that train out at the NTC (i think thats what its called National Training Center) in the desert that normally get their asses kicked by Russian doctrine. Quote:

Lebanese civilians are being killed because The Hezbollah's have placed all their barracks, headquarters, weapons deposits in the midst of heavily populated areas. Israel has warned the population to evacuate 48 hrs prior to the attack and they haven't. Israel is NOT deliberately targeting "the whole population" of Lebanon but if you live next to a terrorist HQ you shouldn't complain when you see some fireworks. "Freedom is the sure possession of those alone who have the courage to defend it". Pericles. ![]() |
