| Primus Pilus | Post; Iranian TanksDoes anybody know what kind of tanks Iran is making? How good are they, stats, ect? What is the current manifacture rate of these tanks (how many built per month)? Do they also make their own APC? Any other military land vehicles? How good is their anti-aicraft missle capability? I didn't think they had an arms industry, but it seems that they do. |

| Primus Pilus | Thanks for the info. I wondering what the industrial output of Iran is, and could they in the future become the number one heavy arms provider for other radical Muslims states. |

| Forum Barbecuer | Beside those vehicles mentioned by Sandy, Iran has the Tosan (wild horse/fury), a light battle tank made in 1997. It has a 90 mm gun and is ment for rapid response / Immediate Reaction Forces. Regarding the Iranian T-72 licences they are up to the "S" version. Quick details: Combat weight 44.5 tonnes Stabilized 125mm smoothbore 2A46M gun, IA40-1 computerised fire-control system (FCS) Laser rangefinder and day/image intensification night sighting system. V-84MS diesel engine/840hp (18.87 hp/tonne) Mine protection improved. Iran has modified Chinese Type WZ 501/503 - which is based upon the BMP-1 Russian style APC. The Iranians named it "Boragh". Iran also have a "Cobra BMT-2" APC - fitted with a 30mm gun or the ZU-23-2 AA gun. First sighted in 1996/1997. | Banned ![]() | The turret does indeed. But direct your attention to the front of the chassis. On an Abrams, the part between the treads slopes down faster than the tread-skirts. The Zolfaqar's slope down equally. |
