| Optio | Post; Info on Irish Paratroopers -- Help!Can anyone find me some info (links) on the Irish Army Paratroopers? Also to a picture of their jump wings if possible? The course is similar to BAC in that you need five static jumps, however, it is a parachutist course, not a paratrooper course and is only offered once a year. The Defence Forces course is more akin to a civilian course than a military one, it is classified as "sports." This is because IDF does not have a dedicated Abn unit, the closest they have is the ARW (Army Ranger Wing), whom are all paratroopers as opposed to parachutists.
