Post; Infantry at an Enginner Unit

I've been thinking about joining the USMCR then going to college. I live in Oregon, and the only Reserve units in all of Oregon are Engineer Units. I, however want 0300, particularly, 0311. Do you think it would be possible for me to go to boot camp, SOI, and then be assigned to an Enginner Unit as an 0311 Marine? If so, what kind of job would I be doing? Any advice, opinions, help would be greatly appreciated.
The link below provides the list of Units in Oregon.

Thanks,
Lamm

I have no idea how the Marines assign their units, but an Infantryman in the Army is never just assigned to an Engineer unit. There has to be a purpose for him to be there, such as an infantry detachment.

But that doesn't happen too much, if at all.
