As long as you are still a sergeant you should be able to ,but if you become an officer than you will have to resign your position.

Preferred to be a S-NCO but not really applied, all depends on experience. We had a Flight Commander as a 2d Lt, and I felt like he should be doing the drill and the sergeants doing the commanding. To answer your questions I am hopping to start the NCO-A in the Summer but if it goes into the Past September period then I may very well be a 2d Lt and then go for Flight Commander
