I have a very good reason for why I feel this way. America has this same type problem. The ONLY difference, is the fact that it has been carried out many millions of times. The wetbacks, cross the border into the United States from Mexico, blend into the background and then feed off the fat of the land expecting the taxpayers to pick up the tab. Their entry was/is illegal (that's why they are called ILLEGAL aliens) ... and ... there are those who seem to want to pardon them. That would be rewarding them for breaking the law (something I am dead set against). It makes no difference the country ... if a person enters illegally, they should be shipped to the closest border and escorted across the border (called a one-way ticket out of town). The country they illegally entered owes the lawbreaker NOTHING ... PERIOD! You don't reward lawbreakers.

| Nuclear Duck Hunter ![]() | Actually, Chief, I think Del Boy meant that in a positive way.

Absolutely right Sir - I was congratulating the Chief on his straight talking! I don't much approve of fence-sitting generally! Cheers.

| No Chance Outside | Del Boy don't like me much hehehe. I hated it how when I was in the US as a legal temporary resident the authorities were eyeing me like I was some kind of illegal immigrant, almost as if it was illegal to be a foreigner and at the same time these illegal immigrants were not being kicked out, laws were changing to accommodate them and their children etc. Made me wonder if I was being a sucker by being a legal temporary resident and should in fact hide away in the woods for five years illegally, then turn up to a lawyer's office saying, "HA! I wasn't caught in five years. Now where's my Green Card?"

| Tribunus Laticlavius | Redneck - I guess I could recognise your situation then. As an elderly guy with all that is taking place here, I often feel like a stranger, shouting at the television. Everything seems to aim at cushioning the bad guys and crushing the good guys; my actual position is not against all comers and triers - I support good cases where our government is ridiculously sending back the wrong ones. In the past i have enabled an individual to obtain papers because I actually knew what a good citizen was involved, a credit to the community. So I spoke up and said so. We have had whole towns trying to keep certain families against the wishes of the bureaucracy, who lack any semblance of common -sense it appears. I am very sensitive, tho' to those from cultures that openly tell us how alien they are towards us and have no wish to intergrate with us, but to replace us. We have had a great influx of Poles, great attitudes, great work ethic, very welcome as far as I am concerned, even though we are so crowded. Last edited by Del Boy; December 17th, 2007 at 10:36. |
