TIS terms: PAZAM(short for Perek Zman Minimaly)- Litteraly means Minimal Time In Service. Used like Time In Service. Pazamozaurus- Used to describe a very, very long TIS soldier. Sometimes used:Pazamozaurus Rex. Vatik-Litteraly means senior. Used to describe a soldier with alot of TIS. Usually these soldiers dont do guard duty, kitchen duty etc. Tzair-Litteraly means young. Describes a soldier that is new in the service. These soldiers get to do all of the worst duties. Chong-this is an otherwise meaningless word, but in the army it meansa a very young soldier. Some say it is short for Tzair veNotef Gerber- Young and covered in gerber(baby food). Sometimes coupled with other meaningles words words that rhime in order to emphesize just how green this soldier is. for instance: Chong-Mong, Chong-Bong etc. KATZIZ(short for Katzin Tzair)- A green officer. Usually refers to a very annoying 2nd Lut. Usually followed by some swear word. Compliments and Deragatories: SHAKEL(short for Shual Kravot Lochem)-litteraly "Battle Fighting Fox". Used to describe a very experienced/good soldier. Shpitz-Litteraly means "tip"(as in the tip of the knife). Means a very good soldier. Totach-litteraly means "Cannon". Means a very good soldier. Killer- means the same as in english. When used to describe a soldier it means he is a very good fighter. Smartut-Litteraly means "rag". Used to describe a weak/lazy soldier. CHAPSHAN- CHAPSH is short for Chayal Pashut(simple soldier). Chpashan describes a lazy soldier or a soldier that takes no responsibilty for his actions. Tzahov- Litteraly means "yellow". Unlike english it dose not mean a coward. it means a very uptight/strict person. Usually refers to an NCO/Officer. Other Terms: Mehabakar: Litteraly means "from the controller". It is based on tank commanders firing shells from their controller. Used to describe an action as reflexive/quick. PALCHUY- Based on "PALCHOD" term for point company. Combined with the russian swear word Chuy. Used to describe a unit with a majority of Jewish-Russian immigrants in it. MAFRAS- Short for Mafia-Rusit(Russian Mafia). Used to describe a group of Russian speaking soldiers who only hang around with eachother speaking Russian. Miznana- from the the hebrew word "Zona"(Wh*re). A situation/base/unit where everyone is doing whatever they want. Beit Zonot- Who*e House. Same meaning as above. TASH- short for Tnaey Sherut(Service Conditions). A term that describes all the diffrent things a soldier is entitled to(Sleep, Shoeres etc.). Sheat TASH- Service Conditions Houre. The one houre between end of schedual to lights out. Used mainly in training units but sometimes elsewhere. In this houre you call home, take a shower, read, watch TV etc. SAPASH-Short for Sigariot Inyanim Po Sham: Cigarettes, Stuff, Here and There. A diffrent and less official name for a Service Conditions Houre. BABLAT- short of Bilbulay Baitzim Lelo Tochelet(Pointless Playing with Balls). Means the same as b******t in english.
