Post; Identify A Uniform


I don't even know if I am at the right place but I need to find out details on this ancestor, I cannot find a uniform like it to compare. I would appreciate if some-one could help or point me in the right direction.

Looks to be an insignia above the sleeve chevrons but I can't make it out.

Hi, I think I know the insignia think its the artillary. Its a cannon, but theres no crown above so maybe not Royal Artillary, like I said I really don't have a clueAny suggestions I am grateful.

It's not royal artillery. I wonder if it's a civil militia uniform. Whatever it is he's got an awesome moustache

I found several photos that kind of match your picture. I found out that the picture is most likely from the 2nd Afgan-war era of the british army. He is a QuarterMaster Sergant or a Artillary Sergant of the Royal Artillary. I have some websites that have some photos that might be helpful if not, then they are interesting.
