Post; how much area can a special forces unit cover

hi
i am an australian universtiy student and am currently working on an assignment about the military. i need to find out how fast or how much area a special forces unit from any branch of the military can cover per hour or per day. i also need to know how much this will vary between flat terrain and mountainous terrain. any information would be greatly appreciated. references would also be appreciated.

What do you mean by "cover?"
Anyway, it is all METT-TC (Mission, Enemy, Time, Terrain, Troops available, and Civilian) dependent, so I don't believe that it is even possible to answer your question (not that I am qualified to do so anyway ) as is.

Difficult (if not impossible) question there Lisa.

What kind of Special Forces are you talking about, and by "cover" do you mean how long can a SF unit walk pr hour/day???

You need to be a bit more specific, or else it's difficult for us to help..

Uh uh. No-go, sorry. Try studying some sites that deal in Land Nav, though - it may help you.
