How did Westerner look at Chinese in Korean War?

lol i dont think 5 years of civil war wth chiang could result in less causlities than a 3 year war with us

the civil war was a totaly war while the korean war was limited

to be non biased, id say the casulties are aorund 400,000, with some 100,000 to 200,000 dead

When China first launched its attacks in North Korea, MacArthur was in denial as he thought it would never happen. Many of the Allied troops had started to relax and let their guard down a bit as they thought they could see the end in sight. One can't fault the Chinese bravery of their head long assault with out a great deal of fire power. Many of the Chinese were observed to be tennis shoes during the height of the winter, so if they had not died in battle they would have died from frost bite or gangrene. Also while we are on this topic just why did the Chinese troops massacre so many people in Seoul when they over it.
