| Optio | Sure  On March 15th, 1917, Tsar Nikolai II abdicated the throne of Russia by giving it to the 2nd person in line for the throne behind his ill son, Aleksei (Alexis) ... this man was his brother... who then also abdicated, therefore ending the line of Romanovs.
