Post; Hey All

Hello everyone.

I would like to thank everyone for having and continuing a great website.

I am currently an active duty E-5 in the US Navy. I have been in for over 5 years now and, with the exception of my training and boot camp, I have spent it entirely overseas. First four years aboard the good ship Kitty Hawk (CV-63) in Yokosuka, Japan and now a staffer at COMSIXTHFLT here in Gaeta, Italy. My rating is Operations Specialist and I am learned from and thoroughly enjoyed my experiences in the NAVY. I have a long military history in my family, however at family reunions the play "From the halls of Montezuma" so you can guess what branch my family served in. I look forward to visiting this site on a regular basis and thanx again for having it.

Welcome! I was aboard the Kitty Hawk once, when it was parked at Everett Naval Station.

To answer your question yes we can log on to the internet from ships. However at sea regular connectivity is a luxary. I am no longer on the Hawk, but we deploy on a Command Ship, the USS Lasalle. Same story, I don't think there is any ship you can't surf the net on nowadays in the Modern US Navy.
