Heroic soldier returns home after making history in Iraq

A HEROIC soldier has returned home to East Grinstead in time for Christmas after making history in Iraq.
Nick Mason, 22, has been serving in the war-torn Middle Eastern country for the past six months.
But last week he was back with his devoted family - including his nephew, baby Jack.
While in Iraq, Nick, of the 16 Regiment Royal Artillery, became the first British soldier to successfully shoot down an enemy rocket using a phalanx gun (a type of heavy machine gun).
He received huge praise from his peers and earned a special meeting with Defence Secretary Des Browne.
