BAGHDAD, Sept 21, 2006 (AFP) - Gunmen killed six policemen when they opened
fire on a police station in Baghdad's upscale Mansur district on Thursday, a
security official said.

One policeman was also wounded in the attack on the Al-Khadra police
station.

In a separate strike, insurgents set off a car bomb in a market in Baghdad's
northwestern Shiite neighbourhood of Al-Hurriyah, killing two people and
wounding eight more, the official said.

Insurgents have often targeted markets in Baghdad to cause maximum civilian
casualties.
