| Centurion | Post; GPS bustersFrom time to time it could be heard in the media about alleged Russian involvement in the Second Iraq war, particularly, supplying Saddam with some devices to fool th "smart" bombs. On the Russian-language military forums is a lot of gloating about this. They claim that this technology has spawn from the autothieves, who were using them to disable the GPS-based anti-theft systems(like "Navistar"), I believe. Is this true? I am sure that the "smart" bombs should have some safeguards about that. Definitely, I wouldn't want anybody to spill the classified information here. Just want some sense of security and justice - some people claim they can disrupt the GPS services with the car battery and a few more things from the toolbox. It is not fair!!! |

| Tribuni Angusticlavii | This seems to invade the realm of OPSEC, so discussing it wouldn't be a good idea, I think.

| Nuclear Duck Hunter ![]() | I don't believe that GPS signals can be jammed except maybe in a very small area. The footprints of sattelites are huge and only Mars people know how to cloak the entire earth with a shield. All kill vehicles can switch to another type of guidace system if one becomes disabled. The rest is still confidential except from Mars men and Russians, but, you know those wild and crazy guys. ![]()
