Anyone read this? Ive seen the movie, but have yet to read it. Picked it up the other day and looking foward.

It's a pretty good Civil War movie. I hate to see where "Stonewall" Jackson were shot by the own Confederate soldiers.

And, nope, I haven't read a book yet.

Not as good as Gettysburg and a little boring in places, but all in all not terrible.

Totally agree with you, i bought it on dvd, as there's a helluva lot of detail in the various featurettes, but I did prefer the grandeur of Gettysburg.

Such a shame that Turner didn't bankroll the final instalment, Last Full Measure, (for all his ranting about bringing American history to the masses and cutting through the fog surrounding the Civil War), he ended up being a straight-out media moghul, ie: if it won't make a buck, i ain't gonna make it....

Pulling the pin with the story part told..... (to borrow a line from South Park: Ted Turner, you ba$tard)
