Post; GHOST STORY

Billy Graham, the preacher, was in full flow.
'Ghosts' he says, 'stand up anyone in the audience who believes in Ghosts.'

About 1/2 the audience stand up.

OK says Billy - 'right you can sit down. Stand up all those who have seen a ghost.'

This time about 1/4 stand up.

'Thank you .OK, now, has anyone actually met a ghost'?

This time less folk stand up.

'Fine, now has anyone ever spoken to a ghost?'

Fewer this time.

' OK - honesty now - anyone here ever kissed a ghost'?

A mere handful stand up.

'Right now - the crux of the matter - Has anyone present here tonight ever made love to a ghost?'

This time one man stands up.

' Look at this man' says Billy, ' honest and brave. I want this man to come right down here to stand next to me'.

Applause all round as the man makes his way down and stands next to Billy, who takes him by the hand.

'My friend' he says - 'as honestly as you can, I want you to tell us all exactly how it came about that you made love to a ghost.' Passes the mike.

'Oh, GHOST, says the guy. Sorry, Mr Graham - I thought you said GOAT!'

Well, that's just the way I heard it, on mainstream television once upon a time. It is funny. Perhaps I should have used some other name for the famous preacher. But he was very popular here, in his time, and I reckoned he was a big enough man to be indifferent to a sly dig in the ribs. No harm done, I believe.
So, funny or not, no offence intended to the great man; it's just that the joke involves a very big crowd, so why not employ the best!

I heard that one when I was 10. Funny though.

You were a very bad boy. But yes, it's a famous stand-up joke.
