German Helmet Serial Numbers from WWII

Hello,

I've recently come across a German helmet from the Second World War (I believe it's an M40) which has an odd manufacturing code in it. The code is "TSR 68". I understand that the 68 indicates the shell size (which in this case is quite large), however I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where helmets with the TSR code were manufactured. It would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for everyone's time.

I asked a former German colleague who knows a lot about German uniforms from WWII.

There were no manufacturer with the code TSR. The helmet is a reproduction from the German company Mil-Tec. The owner is Thomas Sturm Rottenburg, it´s his initials which is stamped in the helmet.

TSR is a bit of an unknown as there were only 5 German manufacturers and the TSR mark is not a recognised one however it could be a helmet made for an overseas market but that would take a lot of work to track down.

You could try contacting this site as they specialise in German helmets of the period though...
