The Legion is a tough place. Tough life, hard, lonely, stomack twisting, and pays little after all.. College or not, all the same. I would say stick to ur countries military, much better pay if I am not mistaken..

True what warwick said. Google or yahoo "French foreign legion". It might be prestigious as you say, but certainly not luxurious. Youd better think twice before making a decision. Their training programe and the later life is not that interesting.. Surely you can have a better military life elsewhere..

Good luck

As far as I know the Spanish Foriegn Legion does not accept foreigners. "Foriegn Legion" is kind of a misnomer on this one. Spainards join the SFL knowing up front their military service is meant to be served outside of Spains borders protecting Spains interests. The Spanish Army was more geared toward defense of Spain itself, with occasional forays out-country when needed (At least this is the way it was explained to me when I wrote to them for information for a research paper years ago). The SFL's main attraction, other than world travel, was better food, and better pay.
This info is quite dated, so take it with a grain of salt, but I think the main missions for both are still the same. If I am wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

The French Foreign Legion is extremely picky about who they pass in these days.
So if you are going to join, be very fit.
Very healthy with no pre existing health problems.
Look reasonably presentable.
Check out the details of the cooper test. You must pass this very high to have a good chance. Its a 2.4km run in a certain time.
Be able to run, run run. They do a lot of it.

yep, be fit, fitness is required, and as warwick said, running is important.

Prepare before that, and dont depend on the training, u need to be prepared before u go there. So, get to ur gym and start working out, building ur fitness, and doing what is supposed of you. Check on what they require for u to pass their tests, and start working on it! but also, think again

Good Luck
